Her paternal grandparents were William Godfrey Morris and Nancy Young; her maternal grandparents were John Gresham and Lydia Hill. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Richard, Benjamin, Fountain, Nancy, Sally, Mary and Nicey. She was the youngest of the eight children.-
