Bernice Ruth was born on September 18th, 1897 in Coal City,IN. Bernice Ruth's father was George Oliver Mitten and his mother was Fayetta Mae Phipps. His maternal grandparents were Washington Hamilton PHIPPS and Maria Louisa Morris. He had two brothers and two sisters, named George Washington Nimrod, William Byron, Lois Edna and Myra Alma. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 83 in 1980 in Linton,IN.-
