Charles Thomas was born on January 10th, 1876 in Shelbyvillle,Shelby,IN. Charles Thomas' father was James Franklin Jackson and his mother was Nancy Young. His paternal grandparents were Riley Jackson and Elizabeth Lee; his maternal grandparents were James S. Young and Sarah Mortimer. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Jerry Young, James Burt, Emma, Tessora Jessica, Elizabeth Marie, Ella, Nancy and Bessie Beatrice. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 98 in 1974.-
