Clinton Raymond was born on July 23rd, 1858 in Defiance Co,Ohio. Clinton Raymond's father was Oren S Hulbert and his mother was Julia Ann Ames. His paternal grandparents were Jared Hulbert and Hannah Searles; his maternal grandparents were Nehemia Ames and Frances Craven. He had a sister named Clarissa. He was the older of the two children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Harley William, Frank and Ella A. He died at the age of 83 on August 24th, 1941 in Joliet,Will Co,Illinois. BIOGRAPHY: Headed west in a prairie schooner shortly after marrying and settled for a time near Fremont, Nebraska. Then went back through Kansas, Ohio, Michigan, and finally to Channahon, IL, on 13 Aug 1885 with his wife and 5 small children. He had relatives already living in Channahon, including his father andan uncle, Clinton Searls. He first began working in his father's general storewhich he eventually took over. He was postmaster from 1896-1915, elected supervisor of Channahon in 1907, and was chairman of the board of supervisors of Will Co. He was Republican committeeman of Channahon for at least 38 years.
According to places and dates of birth of his children, he was in Kansas at leastfrom July 1877-Feb 1881, in Michigan by June 1883, and in Channahon after July1885.
