His paternal grandparents were Ranulph , Baron Neville of Raby de Neville and Euphemia FitzRoger de Clavering; his maternal grandparents were Hugh , Lord Audley de Audley and Isolde de Mortimer. He had six brothers and seven sisters, named John, Ralph, Thomas, Robert, William, Alexander, Catherine, Euphemia, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Isabel, Margaret and Margaret , Lady Ros.
