Her paternal grandparents were Roger la Zouche and Ela Longespee; her maternal grandparents were Roger , 2nd Earl Of Winchester de Quincy and Helen (Elena) de Galloway. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Roger, Eon Or Eudo, Eudo, William, Alan, Oliver, Henry, Helene Rohan-Porhoet and Maud. She was the third youngest of the ten children.
