Ruth Vaught 
Ruth was born on March 15th, 1915 in Holton, Jackson Co., Kansas. Ruth's father was Thomas M. Vaught and her mother was Izella Ethel Shields. Her maternal grandparents were James Madison Shields and Mary Jane Heltonburg. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Russell, Glen Hershel, Roy, Oneta, Lola Mae, Rose and Hazel June. She was the third youngest of the eight children.-
