Dorothy Opal was born on June 6th, 1911 in Monroe County, Indiana. Dorothy Opal's father was Obel Estes Skirvin and her mother was Goldie Cecil Shields. Her paternal grandparents were Smith Skirvin and Clara Kemp; her maternal grandparents were George Washington Shields and Luella Richardson. She had two brothers and a sister, named Delmar Lecoe, Harold Roscoe and Alice Mildred. She was the oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 72 on June 3rd, 1984.-
