Joseph L. Shields

Joseph L. was born about 1835 in Indiana.  Joseph L.'s father was D. W. Shields and his mother was Nancy Agnes Snoddy.  His paternal grandparents were William L., Sr. Shields and Nancy Elizabeth Nash. He had four brothers and five sisters, named William W., John T., Samuel L., Barton M., Mary S., Nancy J., Susanna J., Julia A. and Angeline A..  He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.
