David W. Shields 
David W. was born in March 1876 in Monroe County, Indiana. David W.'s father was David W. Shields and his mother was Elizabeth Ellen Payne. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Shields and Sarah "Sally" Masterson. He had four brothers and five sisters, named James Alexander, Francis M., Andrew Jackson, William Edward, Sarah Jane, Urana L. "Winnie", Martha A., Rowena and Orpha. He was the youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 82 in 1958 in Monroe County, Indiana. He was buried in Burgoon Cemetery, Polk Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana.General Notes

time of the Census living with his mother.
In 1920, David was a resident of Clear Creek Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana,
at the time of the Census living with his widowed mother.
David never married.
