Wrytis Marie was born on August 8th, 1927 in Smithville, Monroe Co., Indiana. Wrytis Marie's father was William Lawrence Baugh and her mother was Zelma Shields. Her paternal grandparents were James Baugh and Elizabeth Cutright; her maternal grandparents were David Jefferson Shields and Cordelia Sexton. She had three brothers and a sister, named William Lawrence Jr., James Oliver, David Floyd, Sr and Sarah Evelyn. She was the youngest of the five children.-
