David Floyd, Sr was born on February 18th, 1925 in Smithville, Monroe Co., Indiana. David Floyd, Sr's father was William Lawrence Baugh and his mother was Zelma Shields. His paternal grandparents were James Baugh and Elizabeth Cutright; his maternal grandparents were David Jefferson Shields and Cordelia Sexton. He had two brothers and two sisters, named William Lawrence Jr., James Oliver, Sarah Evelyn and Wrytis Marie. He was the second youngest of the five children.-
