Ellis Hix 
Ellis was born about 1794 in Georgia. Ellis' father was William Hix and his mother was Hannah Garrad\Jarrett. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Hicks and Melvina Cole; his maternal grandfather was David Jacob Garrad\Jarrett. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named David, Joseph Stephen, Achilles, Thomas, William, John, Jesse, Elizabeth and Mary. He died on December 1st, 1866 in Jasper Co,IL.
They had three sons and six daughters, named Hugh, Ellis, William, Lucinda, Hannah, Sarah Ann, Malvina, Emeline and Elizabeth.
