His paternal grandparents were Johannes Jung (Young) and Maria ?; his maternal grandparents were Conrad Fey and Lysbeth Muller. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Johann Jacob, Matheus, Anna Christine, Catherine Elizabeth, Mariah Christina and Mary. He died at the age of 98 in 1834 in Kanawha County,WV.
