William Arthur Varner 
William Arthur was born on June 21st, 1875 in El Dorado, Butler County, Kansas.1 William Arthur's father was John Nelson Varner and his mother was Mary "Libby" Elizabeth Cress. His paternal grandparents were John "Johnny" Varner Jr and Irena Emma Andrews; his maternal grandparents were William Cress and Jane P Cumming. He had four brothers named John Alvin, George Nelson, Sylvester Elsworth and Clarence Coltson. He was the youngest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Leroy Edward, Jay Dee and Ida Mae. He died at the age of 69 in 1944 in Arkansas. He was buried in IOOF Cemetery.1 1 -
