James Nelson Varner 
James Nelson was born in 1861 in Linn County, IA.1 James Nelson's father was Isaac Daniel Varner and his mother was Ruth Amelia Baker. His paternal grandparents were Joseph W. Varner and Lucy Andrews; his maternal grandparents were John A Baker and Susan Farley. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Milton Emery, Ellis Arvin, Franklin Howard, Lucille Evaline, Mary Elizabeth, Isadora Arbella, Susie Alveretta, Matilda Emma and Dulcie May. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 4 in 1865 in Linn County, IA.1 -
