William STROTHER 
William was born in 1726 in ,Orange, Virginia.1 William's father was Francis STROTHER and his mother was Susannah Dabney. His paternal grandparents were William Strother and Margaret Thornton; his maternal grandparents were John Dabney and Sarah Jennings. He had five brothers and five sisters, named John Dabney, George, Anthony, Robert, Francis, Margaret, Mary, Behethland, Elizabeth and Susanna. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 82 on November 5th, 1808 in ,Woodford, Kentucky.1 General Notes

!NOTE: William owned vast lands in Orange and Culpepper counties in Virginia
as well as many slaves. Records show deed grants to daughter Susannah
and son William Dabney in 1758.
There are indications that all these children were actually born to a
William Pannil and Sarah Bayley. After his death William Strother became
guardian of the children and they took the name of Strother.
After the war, William and Anne with daughter Susannah Coleman and family
moved to Woodford Co. Kentucky. - "Log Cabins", pp 287-288.
