James Gunter Maples 
James Gunter was born on May 19th, 1820 in Sevier Co., Tennessee.1 James Gunter's father was Jesse Maples and his mother was Jemimah. His paternal grandparents were Josiah Maples and Ruthea Sweeney. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Alexander Preston, Americus Bonaparte, William Atchley, Anderson, Martha, Rachel and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers named ANDERSON and Andrew Jackson. He died at the age of 76 on May 9th, 1897 in Bobo, Carroll County, Arkansas.1 General Notes
