His paternal grandparents were Edgar and Elfrida Elfthryt Of Devonshire; his maternal grandfather was Gunnar Thoressen. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Athelstan of England, Ecgbert of England, Edred of England, Edwy of England, Edgar of England, unknown of England, Aelgifu (Elgiva) of England, Edgyth of England, Wulfhilda of England, Edgive of England and daughter. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Alfred, Edward III the Confessor and Godgifu. He died at the age of 27 on November 30th, 1016 in Oxford, England or London, Middlesex, England.
