Robert de was born about 1170 in Of Okehampton, Devon, Eng.1 Robert de's father was Reginald de Courtenay and his mother was Hawise de Curci. His paternal grandparents were Reginald de Courtenay and Hawise de Donjon; his maternal grandparents were William de Curci and Maud de Avranches. He had two brothers and a sister, named Reginald de, Henry de and Egelina de. He was the oldest of the four children. He died on July 26th, 1242 in Iwerne, Dorset, Eng.
