Reginald de was born in 1100 in Courtenay, Loiret, France.1 Reginald de's father was Milo de Courtenay and his mother was Ermengarde de Nevers. His paternal grandparents were Josceline de Courtenay and Elizabeth De Montlhery; his maternal grandparents were William I de Auxerre and Ermengarde de Tonnerre. He had two brothers named Josceline de and Guillaume de. He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-brother named Ralph IV de. He died after 1161 in France.1 General Notes
