Jane E. was born in 1852 in Pennsylvania. Jane E.'s father was Benjamin Stout Quick and her mother was Mary Ann Slaymaker. Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Quick and Elizabeth Pearsen; her maternal grandparents were John, Jr. Slaymaker and Jeannett McIlvaine. She had two brothers and a sister, named George D., Benjamine Howell and Margaret Catherine. She was the second youngest of the four children.General Notes
