Peter was born on July 24th, 1778 in Lancaster Co., PA. Peter's father was George Lefever and his mother was Anna Barbara Slaymaker. His paternal grandparents were Philiip LeFevre and Maria Herr; his maternal grandparents were Lawrence Slaymaker and Eva Elizabeth Eckman. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Lawrence, Isaac, Daniel, Jacob, George, Adam, Samuel, John, Elizabeth, Anna Elisabeta, Mary and Anna Barbara.
