Thomas May Steer 
Thomas was born on November 11th, 1860 in Myton, Hull.1 Thomas' father was William Steer and his mother was Janet Hamlin. His paternal grandparents were William Steer and Mary Wood. He had three brothers and six sisters, named William, John, Jasper, Jannett, Mary, Ada, Clara, Margaret and Elizabeth. He died in an accident or as a result of an injury, Lost at sea, at the age of 37 on January 13th, 1898.Death Notes
There is a memorial vase in Cleethorpes Cemetery with the inscription “Killed at sea - from his loving children”. A service was held at the cemetery on 7th February 1898.
