Sarah's father was George Steer and her mother was Charlotte Lucas.  Her maternal grandparents were Lucas and Sarah. She had two brothers and four sisters, named George, James, Emily, Charlotte, Fanny, Catherine and Ellen.  She was the third oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 1 in 1841 in Petworth.  She was buried on September 5th, 1841 in Petworth.^3 4
