Philip Steer

Philip was born before 1804 and his baptism took place on August 31st, 1804 in Kingsbridge, Devon.  Philip's father was Edmund Sture and his mother was Sarah Grills (of Charleton).  His paternal grandparents were Philip Sture and Mary Whiteway (of Harberton ). He had two brothers and six sisters, named Edmund, John, Mary, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann and Alice.  He was the second oldest of the nine children.

  The only Philip Steer death that Jack Steer can find that would explain him missing the 1851 census took place in Q2 1848 in Crediton district, Devon (GRO X 49)
