John Steer

John was born about 1815 in Charleton Devon.¹ John's father was Edmund Sture and his mother was Sarah Grills (of Charleton). His paternal grandparents were Philip Sture and Mary Whiteway (of Harberton ). He had two brothers and six sisters, named Philip, Edmund, Mary, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann and Alice. He was the second youngest of the nine children.
