Jane was born in 1856 and her baptism took place on October 26th, 1856 in Wisborough Green, Sussex.1 Jane's father was Mark Steer and her mother was Eliza Harwood. Her paternal grandparents were James Steer and Rebecca Miram. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Frank, Harry, Frederick, William, Stephen, Alfred, Annie and Kate.General Notes
