Albert was born in 1878 in Guildford Surrey.1  Albert's father was Stephen Steer and his mother was Sarah.  His paternal grandparents were John Steer and Eliza steer. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Frederick, George, Alice, Kate and Annie.  He was the youngest of the six children.
