John Stear

John was born before 1758 and his baptism took place on January 22nd, 1758 in West Alvington.¹   John's father was Thomas Sture and his mother was Mary Luckham.  His paternal grandparents were William Sture and Agnes Cranch. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William, George, Thomas, Jasper, Richard, Mary and Ann.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.
