Edward was born about 1882 in Bromley Kent.1   Edward's father was George STEERS and his mother was Eliza STEERS. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, Albert, Isabella, Emma, Eliza, Ada, Emma and Maud.  He was the third youngest of the nine children.
