Charles was born about 1872 in Farnborough Kent.1   Charles' father was George STEERS and his mother was Eliza STEERS. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Albert, Isabella, Emma, Eliza and Ada.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.
