Martha was born on August 5th, 1775 in Limpsfield Surrey.  Martha's father was George STEER and her mother was Martha YOUNG.  Her paternal grandparents were William STEER and Elizabeth HASWEL. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William, George, John, Edward, Ann, Mary and Susannah.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.
