Edward was born in 1790 in Surrey.. Edward's father was George STEER and his mother was Martha YOUNG.  His paternal grandparents were William STEER and Elizabeth HASWEL. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William, George, John, Martha, Ann, Mary and Susannah.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 56 in 1846 in Limpsfield Surrey.1
