Hannah was born about 1873 in Thorpe, Yorkshire.1   Hannah's father was Thomas STEER and her mother was Emma Sanderson.  Her maternal grandfather was Ambrose SANDERSON and her maternal grandmother is <Unknown>. She had four brothers and a sister, named Samuel, Albert E, Thomas, Joseph H and Harriett.  She was the third oldest of the six children.
