Edith was born about 1887 in Crediton Devon.1   Edith's father was Robert STEER and her mother was Eliza STEER. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Robert, John, Louis, George, Emma, Eliza, Alice, Ellen, Bessie and Florence.  She was the third youngest of the eleven children.
