Jane was born about 1884 in Spitalfields, London.1   Jane's father was Joseph STEAR and her mother was Ellen STEAR. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, James, Harry, Ellen and Emma.  She was the third youngest of the seven children.
