Emma was born about 1877 in Spitalfields, London.1   Emma's father was Joseph STEAR and her mother was Ellen STEAR. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, James, Harry, Ellen and Jane.  She was the second oldest of the seven children.
