Daniel Hext was born on August 7th, 1884 in Hodgkinson Goldfield, North Queensland. Daniel Hext's father was Daniel Hext ROWLANDS and his mother was Ada TOUZEAU.  His maternal grandparents were William TOUZEAU and Mary Ann Eliza WALDEN. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John Henry, William, George, Charles, Edward Walden, May Mary, Rosalie and Ada.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 73 on March 21st, 1958 in Herberton.
