Mary Ellen Woodward

Mary was born in 1830 in Toxteth Park.¹

Mary's father was John Woodward and her mother was Mary Malley. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Woodworth (Woodward) and Elizabeth Tomkins. She had five brothers and a sister, named Daniel, John, James, James, Ann and Catherine. She was the oldest of the seven children.

General Notes
- Ellen (or Hellen), but Mary Ellen on marriage record.
  
  1841 is a problem. Helen was not with her family, but clearly the sister of Catherine. There was an Ellen (10) with John a labourer and Mary (35 & 30), at Liverpool Islington, but with siblings Daniel (8), John (6) and James (1).
