Daniel was born about January 1849 in Birkenhead.1   Daniel's father was Abraham Wood and his mother was Martha Taylor. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, David, Abraham, Annie, Martha, Mary and Susannah.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.  He died on March 20th, 1909 in Birkenhead.  He was buried at the Flaybrick Memorial Gardens.
