James Withnell 
James was born on February 5th, 1856 in Sharples.1 James' father was Thomas Withnell and his mother was Eliza Nightingale. His maternal grandparents were William Nightingale and Peggy (Margaret) Riding. He had three brothers named Edward, John and William. He was the oldest of the four children.
