Thomas was born in June 1762 in Shotton and his baptism took place on May 16th, 1762 in Hawarden.1  Thomas' father was John Williams and his mother was Elizabeth Evans. He had two brothers and six sisters, named John, Edward, Elizabeth, Ann, Sarah, Mary, John and Margaret.  He was the fourth oldest of the nine known children.
