Thomas was born in 1862 in Manchester and his baptism took place there on July 6th, 1862.1  Thomas' father was Thomas Warburton and his mother was Ellen Mather.  His maternal grandparents were John (Mechanic) Mather and Ann Thompson. He had two brothers and a sister, named James, Smith and Sarah.  He was the youngest of the four children.
