Sarah was born in 1860 in Manchester and her baptism took place there on January 29th, 1860.1  Sarah's father was Thomas Warburton and her mother was Ellen Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were John (Mechanic) Mather and Ann Thompson. She had three brothers named James, Smith and Thomas.  She was the third oldest of the four children.
