Betsy was born in 1864 in Turton.1  Betsy's father was George Warburton and her mother was Ann Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Hannah (Ann) Kirkham. She had three brothers and a sister, named Joseph, Robert, George and Jane.  She was the second oldest of the five children.
