Sarah's father was James Walmsley and her mother was Nancy Turner. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, William, Rachael, Alice and Tabitha.  She was the second youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 3 in March 1844.  She was buried on March 28th, 1844 in Bolton.²
