Sarah's father was James Walmsley and her mother was Nancy Turner. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, William, Rachael, Alice and Tabitha. She was the fifth oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 3 in March 1844. Her burial was on March 28th, 1844 in Bolton.²
