James Tomlinson

James was born in 1835 in Manchester.¹

James' father was James Tomlinson and his mother was Ann Craven. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John, William, George, Alfred, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth and Charlotte. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 50 in 1885.

General Notes
- 18 April 1858 James, a Tallow of Lamb Lane Manchester, son of James Tomlinson, a weaver married Mary Ann Healey. Borth werre aged 23. Hannah Healey (sister - TBC) was a witness.
  
  In 1851, James (16) was with his parents James and Ann (49 & 44) at 27 Lower Tebbut Street. His father was a labourer at the Candle Works. James later bacame a Tallow Chandler (a person who makes and sells candles).
  
  In 1861, James (26) and Mary A (25) were at Manchester with Ann (1.5) and Joseph (2)
  
  In 1871, James and Mary A (both 36) were at 31 Boardman Street, Manchester with Joseph (12), Ann (10), Willie (6), Mary J (4) and George (1).
  
  In 1881, James and Mary Ann (46 & 45) were in Manchester with Ann (20), William (16), Mary Jane (14), Elizabeth (8) and James (5)
