Thomas' father was Josiah Timmis and his mother was Ann Berks.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Timmis and Ann Bourne. He had a brother and four sisters, named Josiah, Mary, Anne, Elizabeth and Harriet.  He was the second youngest of the six known children.

‌Thomas and Mary were married.  The family line is yet to be completed.
