Anne's father was Josiah Timmis and her mother was Ann Berks.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Timmis and Ann Bourne. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Josiah, Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth and Harriet.  She was the second oldest of the six known children.  She died at the age of 102 in December 1896 in Newcastle-under-Lyme.²
